Пропадает пинг до сервера, но локально сервер доступен, psod нет.

ВМ также недоступны.

1. Прошивки актуальны.

2. Установлен стандартный образ, есть аналогичный сервер, с такими же прошивками, проблему не наблюдаю.

3.

м.плата supermicro X11DPH-I

проц. Intel Xeon Gold 5118 x2

We're running into the same issue with USB redirect not working initially, until a quick disconnect/reconnect to session gets it to work. Have you head back from VMWare about a solution? I'm in the early stages of testing now, so thought I'd reach out to see if there was any update.

Re: vRA 7.6 : Approval Policy : To choose approver dynamically

I think the most flexible solution is still XaaS invoked IaaS provisioning you already tried. But you need all the 52 BGs and all the possible reservations. Altough these can be created via the API, scripted (along with the entitlements).

If you want to go the custom forms way:

I understand you'd have 52 BGs just to map the approver, other than that you don't want to separate the departments (different reservation limits or catalog items)? Then they can be put into a single BG. For approvals, I'd set up an external system to handle approvals (ServiceNow or iTOP if you want it for free) and use the external approval solution of vRA discussed before. In that system you could map your users to approvers.

Hi Ilian,

I need to know which workflows have been edited during the last 30 days (for ex.), every time a change is made I increase the version.

I will try using Server.findAllForType("Workflow") as you advised

Thanks a lot

Setting up different registry changes for same exe, with different application pool IDs using UEM\DEM

$

Hello!  Hoping someone might be able to assist with DEM\UEM.  We have one application exe, but have set up separate Horizon Application IDs.  We would like to apply a different registry key through UEM depending on which application is launched.  This is to allow one application install, with one appstack, on one farm to use different licensing.

The end goal is to have the same app exe in one farm, but if they launch app id 1 it would apply one registry key, and if they launch app id 2 it would apply a different set of registry keys.

Any help would be appreciated!

Alt-Tab not working properly on MacOS host Horizon version 5.2.0 and 5.2.1

When I try to switch between windows in my remote Windows session (MacOS host) using the alt-tab shortcut key, it just switches between the two most recently used windows. I noticed this behavior in version 5.2.0 and when I switched back to 5.1.0 it was working as expected again. It seems to be broken in 5.2.1 still.

I hope this can be fixed soon!

I added all the reg keys from this thread and it still didn't work all the time. I modified my UEM policies to use direct flex and I removed our disclaimer from windows (the one where the user has to hit okay every time) and that seemed to help as that didn't hold up the login process. UEM or DEM needs to figure out why this is happening as it seems to be a UEM issue and not horizon.

Re: vRA 8 - Issues Applying a Certificate

Just went through the KB steps listed and it worked! Thanks vnenova for the heads up on this!

One thing I ran into that others might, depending on how you export your PFX... I got an error trying to go through these steps with an encrypted key. I got prompted to put in the password I used, but it ended up failing down the line when re-provisioning the containers. As a work around, I ended up using these two commands:

openssl pkcs12 -in certname.pfx -nocerts -out key.pem -nodes

openssl pkcs12 -in certname.pfx -nokeys -out cert.pem

To generate the cert/key pems separately with the password I used to generate the pfx. Then I built the chain as specified in the KB, clicked "enter" where it prompted for password, and it worked.

Appreciate the assistance with this! Glad VMware was able to give us a workaround, and hopefully we can use LCM to manage this in the future.

MODS: Can you mark vnenova's  answer as correct? It appears I cannot since I made this a discussion versus a question. Thank you!

You assuming he is going to the LB address, I don't see an reference to that so far. Also going from one ESR version to another causing this, I highly doubt its a lb issue anyway, it would have been the all along. With flash set to be end of life in a year, I doubt much will be done, but I'd open an SR and see what support thinks.

but if they launch app id 1 it would apply one registry key, and if they launch app id 2 it would apply a different set of registry keys.

What are you referring to here? I cannot think of a feature where there is app id? Are you referring to the id you put in the applicaiton pool  in horizon? If so I don't think that's one of the setting passed through. They only ones that are sent are

Client System Information Sent to Remote Desktops

Unless DEMdev or someone else has seen more, you can use security groups if there are groups of people that need different licenses, just make a condition set for the OU the farm is in and if it matches the security group.

Re: New Firefox ESR 68.x, Flash and the Horizon Console

I found the culprit!

The default "sandbox" security level for the Flash plugin has increased between versions of Firefox:

(In about:config)

dom.ipc.plugins.sandbox-level.flash

New default level = 3

Previous default level = 2

Changing the value back to 2 seems to fix the behavior in both View and vCenter.  What's even better is that UEM (Sorry, DEM) is picking up the change so it persists between sessions.  I'm still looking forward to the official death of Flash next year but am happy to keep old-school folks and interfaces functioning normally.

Metric statKey index

Hello!

I am getting datastore metrics for VM from VROPS API and have follow statKeys for example:

"key": "datastore:10060|totalLatency_average"

"key": "datastore:4293|totalLatency_average"

"key": "datastore:Aggregate of all instances|totalLatency_average"

How to link this IDs (10060, 4293)  to datastores?

You're trying to open a VMRC link, which is not how you access vCenter Server. You'd go through https://<fqdn>/ui. For console, if you want that you need to install the VMRC application which is a separate download

Re: Local storage concept standalone ESXi

constipate a single host esxi server.

That word doesn't mean what you think it means

We have the following requirements:

On the new server will run 4x vms.

2x Windows 2016 Webserver

1x Linux Webserver

Are we attempting the maths here?

I think we need a maximum of 4tb.

You shouldn't "think" about your requirements, you should measure them, especially when it comes to hardware needs.

Which storage / raid should I prefer? Should i use 10k hdds or only ssds? Hybrid mode?

It always "depends". What performance characteristics do you need? What is your budget?

You need to do a test ping with the proper packet size between the TEPs on your ESXi hosts. You'll probably find that isn't working properly, which means you either have a MTU issue or some other physical networking problem. Use the command vmkping -S vxlan <TEP> -d -s 1572 -c 10 to test.

I'd probably recommend you open an SR with VMware GSS and have them diagnose the issue.
